Coaching Staff

Christi Bryan was a standout high school athlete in both basketball and tennis.  
Playing tennis since the age of 4, Christi was ranked 23rd in the state of Texas in Girls' 17
and under when she was 16.  She was a member of the Perryton High School tennis
team that qualified for the Texas State Team Tennis tournament all 4 years of high
school.  Christi also qualified for and participated in singles in the UIL state tournament
her junior and senior years of high school.  She was team captain her junior and senior
years, and was the MVP for her high school tennis team all 4 years of high school.  Christi
also played basketball all 4 years of high school, where she was the team captain her
junior and senior years.  Her junior year she earned all-district honors, and also received
the Fighting Heart Award.  Her senior year, she earned all-district, all-region, and
academic all-state honors, and received the MVP of her team.   Christi played tennis her
first year of college at Southwestern Oklahoma State before transferring to UT Arlington.  
Christi began her volleyball coaching career at Coppell Middle School East, where she is
currently still coaching volleyball, basketball, and track.   She quickly fell in love with the
game of volleyball when her daughter began playing the sport 6 years ago. Her daughter
plays volleyball for Coppell High School and also plays Club, which Christi has also
helped coach.

Fun Facts:  Christi is married to a police officer, and they have two daughters...Katy (15
years and a sophomore at Coppell High School) and Kylie (18 months).  They also have
two dogs.....Angel (a jack russell terrier) and Lucky ( a chihuaha/yorkie mix that they found
abandoned in front of a Church).


Erin Baker graduated from Northwest High School in 1999 where she excelled at
volleyball, basketball and track as well as academically.  In high school, she was MVP of
her volleyball team her sophomore year, earned various 1st team All District honors 1996-
1999, was selected 1st Team all NE Area, 2nd Team all Tarrant County and also selected
as a Texas All Star (West) in 1999.

 
Erin attended Ole Miss (Division 1 in the SEC) on a full scholarship where she started as
a freshman.  In 2002 she was an All-Tournament selection at the University of Montana
Tournament, Ole Miss Magnolia Invitational and Central Florida Tournament.  She was the
Team Captain, and was named to the All-SEC Good Works Team 2002 and All SEC
Academic Honor roll in 2002.  She still holds the Ole Miss school record for most total
blocks (270) in a career (rally scoring).  While at Ole Miss, she also played 1 year of
basketball for the Ole Miss Women's basketball team.
 Erin coached high school volleyball for four years at Lafayette High School in Oxford,
Mississippi.  In 2007, she coached her team to the State Final Four and to the Regional
Finals in 2008.  She has coached 3 State All-Star Athletes and 3 All Area athletes.  While at
Lafayette, she also started a middle school program there as well.  


Fun Facts:
Erin is married to her husband, Trevor, and they have a daughter named
Hannah.  Erin is a part time preschool teacher and primarily stays at home with Hannah.

Jenny Harry went to school at Texas Tech and finished her degree at TWU. She
played volleyball for Coppell High School as an outside hitter where she received the Co-
Fighting Heart award and was also awarded All Metrocrest News Honorable Mention,
Academic All District and All District.
This is Jenny's 7th year to coach volleyball and has
coached 13's-15's at school and club levels.


Fun Facts:
Jenny and her husband, Sam,  have two sons, Brenham and Mason, and a
daughter, Allie.  Jenny is on the Board of Directors for the DFW Labrador Retriever Rescue.


Jordan [Bostic] Grantham was a four-year starter at defensive specialist for the
New Mexico State University volleyball team. She was named Second-Team All WAC in
2005 and recorded 1,204 digs in her career, which ranks 5th all-time at NMSU. Her senior
year she was named an NSCA All American Strength & Conditioning Athlete of the Year
and was selected to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-American Team. She
graduated Summa Cum Laude from NMSU and was named the 2007 Athletics Council
Scholar Outstanding Scholar Athlete.
 Jordan played outside hitter for Franklin High School in El Paso, TX, where she was
named the El Paso Times All-City MVP both her junior and senior year. She was named to
the First Team 5A All-State Volleyball Team by both the Texas Sportswriters Association
and the Texas Girls Coaches Association in 2004.


Fun Fact: Jordan married her high school sweetheart in the summer of 2010.  Scott was a
football standout in high school and college and is currently a teacher and assistant
football coach at Flower Mound High School. Jordan works professionally as a graphic
designer and magazine editor for the National Athletic Trainers’ Association.

Kate Harrison is a senior at TWU and majoring in kinesiology.  Kate played volleyball
for TWU as a setter / right side. She also played two years at North Central Texas College
where she earned First Team All-Region and First Team All-Conference honors both
seasons. She was named the 2009 NTJCAC Co-MVP and 2008 NTJCAC Newcomer of
the Year and selected to the 2009 NTJCAC All-Academic Team.
 She played volleyball at Billy Ryan High School. She was named the 2006 District 5-4A
Setter of the Year and selected the 2007 All-Area Co-Offensive Player of the Year. She also
earned All-District 5-4A First Team honors in 2007.  Kate helped the team to Region I
Quarterfinals in 2006 and 2007. She played club volleyball at Dallas Force from 2005-06
and at Victory VBC from 2007-08 where Erin Hellmuth (TVA Director) was her coach for
one season.
She currently coaches club for Victory Volleyball Club where she is the
assistant for the 13 Elite team.


Fun fact: The three things that she always has with her are: her phone, her smile, and her
chapstick!


Kelly Koele
was a standout  high school athlete in both basketball and track.  She
was honored as the basketball team captain, team MVP and female athlete of the year.  
She was also named all-area and academic all-state.  Kelly played basketball at
Redlands Community College before she transferred to Baylor University.
Kelly began her volleyball coaching career in 1997 at Second Baptist School in Houston.  
She quickly fell in love with the game and began learning everything she could from other
coaches and clinics.  She had the privilege of coaching with Sue Schelfhout, a former All-
American and National Champion setter at the University of Texas.  Kelly worked with Sue
at Second Baptist for 10 years where they won three state championships and had 6 Final
Four appearances.  Kelly also coached club volleyball in Houston, in addition to coaching
basketball, track and softball at Second Baptist.


Fun Facts: Kelly is married to Patrick who is a teacher and coach.  They have three
children, Levi, Dylan and Ryder.  Kelly worked at Kanakuk Kamp (a Christian Sports Camp
in the Ozarks) for seven years during the summers and one year full time.  


Krysta Argraves began her volleyball career at Billy Ryan High School, where she
played as an outside hitter.  She earned 2nd Team All-District and was named MVP of her
varsity team in 2005. She was also rewarded for her outstanding hard work in the
classroom receiving Academic All-District.  Krysta played club volleyball for Texas Juniors
DFW (TVA Director Ronda’s club) for three consecutive years where she then was
recruited to play at North Central Texas College. She earned a scholarship to play outside
hitter for the Lady Lions. After playing for one year, Krysta decided not to play due to back
injuries and then helped out her team as the student assistant.  Her last year in playing
she received Academic All Conference.  Over the years, Krysta has refereed and coached
various high school teams. She graduated from the University of North Texas, with honors,
in May of 2010.


Fun facts:  Krysta recently got married in October of 2010 to Cole Argraves.  They have a
decker terrier puppy named Maverick.


Mallory McKee started her volleyball career at Coppell Middle School East and
continued at Coppell High School where she also played varsity softball. Upon graduation
Mallory went to Southern Arkansas University on a full athletic scholarship to play Division
II volleyball. While playing for Southern Arkansas, she set five defensive school records.
She was the all time dig leader with 2,297 digs, top dig total for a match with 44 digs, most
digs per set for a season at 6.08, and most digs per career at 5.47. Along with setting
these school records, she was awarded the Auburn Smith Award for most outstanding
female athlete. She made the Academic All Conference Teams and achieved All
Conference recognition. She received a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice and
Psychology, but also obtained her Master’s in Public Administration while studying at
Southern Arkansas University.


Fun Fact: Mallory also was a member of the Southern Arkansas Golf team.


Shawna Werts played volleyball, basketball, softball and ran track throughout high
school.  She received a full athletic scholarship to play volleyball at the University of
Central Oklahoma where she was the setter and enjoyed All-Conference Honors her
Sophomore, Junior and Senior Years and still holds a school record or two.  
Shawna has coached high school volleyball for 20 years. She began at Casady School in
OKC as a head coach at the age of 21.  She then finished her education degree and
began teaching and coaching at Edmond Memorial High School in Edmond, OK where
she was an assistant coach for a few years before becoming the Varsity Coach for the
next seven years.  In 2000 she and her family moved to Texas and she became the Varsity
assistant/JV volleyball coach & Varsity assistant basketball coach at Grapevine High
School for 8 years.  She currently works at Lewisville High School where she has coached
volleyball and track.


Fun facts: Shawna has been married to her husband, Jeremy for 17 years.  He is an
English teacher at Flower Mound High School.  They have two kids, Molly and Jack.  Both
Shawna and Jeremy are professional photographers.
